Community
Community brings attention to issues of connection between people, places, and nature, raising questions about what sustainability is, and for whom. Sustainability is about more than just the environment: it encompasses the sustainability of communities, institutions, and economic relations. Questions of scale are important, from individual actors to complex structures.
The Centre’s focus on community includes:
- The racialisation of natures and environments through colonial power
- Populations and migration
- Home and alien environments
- Recognition, e.g. of marginalized groups
- Behaviour change
- Place-based values and interactions between people and nature.
